Taylors Jaraman Shiraz 2008»
Rating? Wicked - 4½ stars!
Satin smooth wine, finely scented, soothing with mint, bright red currant and assuaging tannins. The solid palate structure and adorable mix of fruit characters are further beautified by an indulgence of nutmeg/ milk chocolate oak.
Bress Margaret River Semillon Sauvignon 2009»
Rating? Brain-fryingly good - 4½ stars!
Yellow ribbons of lemon and sunshine, ceamily textured expressions of creme patissiere and couer a la creme, tropical characters, grapefruit and nut.
Yering Station Chardonnay 2007»
Rating? Wicked - 4 stars!
The weighty mineral palate is well balanced with soft acid, beautiful roundness and some length. Long and tight with a texture like cinderella's slipper set against the to and fro between the dryness at the finish and ripeness of fruit.
Rahona Valley Pinot Noir 2006»
Rating? Right up there - 4½ stars!
A swirl of velvety textures and eager aromas, currant, bay leaf and framboise. An illuminated palate of settled background oak, saturated by fresh cherry, garnished with violet and rose, brought forward by light but goodly, accomodating tannins.
Paringa Peninsula Pinot Noir 2009»
Rating? Exellence & excellent value - 4½ stars!
The palate's fine and medium bodied, as the gentle but ripe tannins lend full support to the litany of cherry, licorice, violet, vanilla and spice characters. It is clean and fresh with a medley of delightful savoury garden vegetable/ leaf scents to the nose.
Tassell Park Cabernet Sauvignon 2008»
Rating? Brain-fryingly good - 4½ stars!
A genie of luscious, bramble and currant fruits as this evolves in the glass, a multi layered palate and juicy purple tannins before a warming finish of pipe tobacco, reductions and cassis.
